About Brittany Pope
In order to help clients create a positive change, it is important that the therapist has expertise and training in the areas in which they practice. I received my Master's Degree at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling—Severe Disabilities. It is important to me to incorporate wellness into your mental health in order to achieve a life balance. I believe that you need to experience emotions and that there is a stigma in regards to emotions being bad or wrong. It is important to create healthy outlets for your emotions and learn skills to help you process these emotions.
In the community of Ketchikan, I am involved in other volunteer work and love all that this community has to offer. I serve on the Board of Directors for the Ketchikan Wellness Coalition. The goal of the Ketchikan Wellness Coalition is to provide access to wellness and break down the stigma of mental illness in the community. It has a value set that is important to me and I connect with the mission of this organization.
Currently, I am enrolled in my PsyD Counseling Psychology program at Alaska Pacific University and will be fully licensed as a Psychologist within four years. I believe that furthering your education and life-long learning are not only beneficial to me, but also an invaluable benefit to my clients!
